About My Life as a Writer

Paul Hood presently is Director of Gift Planning at The University of Montana Foundation, as well as a speaker and commentator on estate planning, planned giving and business valuation issues.  A former estate planning and tax attorney in Louisiana, Paul received his undergraduate and law degrees from LSU and his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.  He is a frequent speaker and his articles have appeared in a number of publications.  He is now teaching a course on estate planning for the online masters in taxation program for Northeastern University.  From 1996-2004, Paul served on the Louisiana Board of Tax Appeals, a three member board that has jurisdiction over all Louisiana state tax matters.  Paul and Tim Lee wrote a book on business valuation that John Wiley & Sons published in the spring of 2011, and he and Emily Bouchard wrote a book on estate planning for blended families that was published by Self-Counsel Press in the spring of 2012.  Paul resides in Missoula, Montana.  He can be reached at 504.452.7574 or at paul@paulhoodservices.com or paulhood@acadiacom.net.
